Richard Branson Announces He Will Go to Space Before Bezos

Virgin Galactic announced Thursday last week that Richard Branson will be going to space on July 11 in the "Unity 22" mission.

The mission be on the VSS Unity spacecraft and will carry a full crew of two pilots, Dave Mackay and Michael Masucci, and four mission specialists, including Branson.

This announcement and mission will allow Branson to beat Jeff Bezos into getting into space as Bezos has a mission set for July 20.

This is what Branson had to say,

"I truly believe that space belongs to all of us... After more than 16 years of research, engineering, and testing, Virgin Galactic stands at the vanguard of a new commercial space industry, which is set to open space to humankind and change the world for good. It's one thing to have a dream of making space more accessible to all; it's another for an incredible team to collectively turn that dream into reality. As part of a remarkable crew of mission specialists, I'm honored to help validate the journey."
